Ghana Mission 2010
Anidaso Health is a nonprofit group dedicated to helping with medical missions and supplies to the under served. We have completed our 4th mission in 5 years to Ghana this fall. Anidaso means hope in Twii , the main Ghanaian language. We went to Kwahu Government Hospital in Atibie, in the falls of 2010 and 2008 and the springs of 2006 and 2007. We also visited several outlying communities and clinics.
2010 brought a group of fourteen dedicated volunteers from Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois, including an audiologist, nurses, a pharmacist, a public health worker, a nephrologist, an anesthesiologist, students, and two internists, who volunteered their skills, time, and money during our fourth year for a successful mission. We fitted patients for hearing aids, checked hearing and cleaned ears. We also did ear cleaning, diabetic screening, and blood pressure screening at Kwahu hospital and in Pitiku, a small town near Lake Volta.
We brought medical supplies, dispensing them freely to patients throughout our stay.
Our work in Ghana is facilitated by Salormey Volunteers Group. Fred and Rebeca were outstanding as always.
